Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve
From the edge of Skegness to the mouth of The Wash this reserve is noted for the sheer scale and diversity of its wildlife.
Started in 1949, ‘Gib’ as it is affectionately known, was one of the earliest of Britain’s official Bird Observatories. Admire beautiful views across this large stretch of unspoilt coastline that runs southward from Skegness to the south of The Wash.
Mudflats, salt and fresh water marshes and man-made fresh and salt water meres on its 429 ha from the edge of Skegness to The Wash mouth. Large numbers of migrant and over-wintering birds visit the reserve. Gibraltar Point Reserve is one of 19 official bird observatories in Britain, starting up in 1949.

North Sea Observatory, Chapel St Leonards
This spectacular building opened 2018 and is open all year round. A purpose built and accessible marine observatory, it includes exhibitions on the local area, an art space, café, public toilets and car park. It sits on a slight promontory at Chapel Point near Chapel St Leonards.
A visit to the Café, gallery and the UK’s only purpose built Marine Observatory, is the perfect start or end to a bracing walk along the beach. Chapel Pit is a great spot for bird watching. Great views along the beach from North Sea Observatory but also out to sea. Binoculars are provided in the café.

Batemans Brewery
Bateman’s Brewery prides themselves on giving one of the best brewery tours and tutored tastings in the country. The tour guides are knowledgeable, insightful and full of amusing tales, making the tour interesting, entertaining and fun – enjoyable for both beer lovers and those who are shortly to be converted.
Your guide will give a short talk on the history of Batemans Brewery and their interesting past. This is followed by tours of the Victorian Brewhouse and the ‘Theatre of Beers’ built in 2002.
